Located in St. Mary's County Maryland, NAS Patuxent "Pax" River is the Navy's Test and Evaluation Base. We had five aircraft types in
this squadron. The land based P-3 Orion, carrier based S-3 Viking, SH-60 Seahawk, SH-3 Sea King, and the SH-2 Seasprite. While at
this squadron I was lucky enough to be able to fly in all of these aircraft.
My main job was to test and evaluate new ASW equipment on board the P-3 Orion. I was also assigned to the Tactics Department where I
was involved with the publishing, printing, and distribution of the Squadron Newsletter "Pioneers Progress".
