During one of our deployments/detachments to Adak there
was a Soviet submarine expected to be in the area. One of the
people at the ASWOC said that they would give a case of
beer to the first crew to gain contact. I know it's hard to see
but that is a case of Pabst Blue Ribbon in my hands in this
photo. Not the best beer in the World but we got it for free.
